Peter Gartmann + Sabina Roth have created black and white, monochrome tree works – lost in the trees. Full of lightness, the trees seem like changing abstractions in connection of heaven and earth. The translucent trees are brought to life by the light – in continuous change and transformation they strive ever onward. In the treetops rustles the world – we lose ourselves in it – quietly feeling the movement – the wide, sweeping branches in the pursuit of the sky – and the growth in ourselves.

Lost in the trees – lost in the forest – lost in nature – lost on our earth – lost in this time – lost in our universe – lost in their lights – lost in infinite expanse – lost in ourselves – light – life – unfold – aspire.

The trees in a flickering light – the flying looking treetops brought into the picture. Full of secrets in black and white – in translucent cover – like floating branches in light spaces.

The tree series „lost in the trees“ is the result of a long-term visual exploration from 2006 to 2021 by Peter Gartmann + Sabina Roth on the theme of trees, forests and nature – based on individual image series around the mystery and essence of trees.
