NYC – HARLEM 1994 – the moment
New York City – Such a dizzying feeling of being insignificant in the immensity of time and space.
The summer of 1994 in New York City was hot and humid with temperatures of over 30 degrees and extremely high humidity, which made the heat even more uncomfortable.
In Harlem in the 1990s, boxing played one of the most important roles in the community. Boxing clubs offered young people not only training in boxing, but also a safe environment that fostered discipline, respect and self-confidence.
Harlem is historically culturally linked to the African-American community. Since the early 20th century, it has been a centre for black culture, art, politics and sport.
The photographs were taken in July and August 1994.

NYC – HARLEM 1994
New York City – Such a dizzying feeling of being insignificant in the immensity of time and space.
Virginia Woolf – A ROOM OF ONE’S OWN
As a woman, I have no country. As a woman, I want no country. As a woman, my country is the whole world.
BLINDED BY THE LIGHT
Lights from the outside – dreams from the inside – flow, play their game – deform, merge, lose and forget themselves.
THE ORIGIN OF THE WORLD
The woman, the archetype of life – carries the world.
Images from the performances: Origin of the world – Atlas – Despair
FLOATING IN THE VOID
Why do the images of life lose their shine and fade into nothingness? Memories of a life, like an echo from far away.
WHO ARE YOU, HUMAN?
Do you ever wonder if the life you are living is yours.
Pictures from the series: Who are you, man? – The enigma of nothingness – NYC 1997 – The lost being
IN THE BEGINNING
The beginning of life – nature, the origin of our world – birth – the place of origin of the human being, that made any experience of the world possible in the first place.
BETWEEN THE WORLDS
Are we lost or have we been found? Are we dead or are we alive? Are we happy or are we blind? Do we still have time or has it already run out?
THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD
Life is so much stranger than anything that the human mind could invent.
There are all kinds of secrets in this world and all kinds of truths.
