floating in the void – The works reveal the fragility of human beings – lonely, lost, in a world that is slipping away. Between confusion and wonder, on the edge of nothingness, images emerge of traces of life that fade in the light – in the moment of being.

the story of our life is the story of our fears. The story of our lives is the story of our fears. The moments when everything falls apart. Crashing and derailing. We are living our dream – and no one is telling us to wake up.

We live in this new millennium, in this moment of madness, where somewhere in between, in the flickering of the years, the light is lost in the dust.

Photographs transferred onto wood, paper, or transparent film, reworked with plaster, oil, or acrylic paints, were exposed to the weather. They bear the traces of time, make transience visible, and give a glimpse of the inevitability of decay.

Schweben im Nichts 1999 – 2003

Die Arbeiten offenbaren die Zerbrechlichkeit des Menschen – einsam, verloren, in einer entgleitenden Welt. Zwischen Verwirrung und Verwunderung, am Rand des Nichts, entstehen Bilder von Spuren des Lebens, die im Licht verblassen – im Augenblick des Seins.

Die Geschichte unseres Lebens ist die Geschichte unserer Ängste. Die Momente, in denen alles zusammenbricht. Abstürzen und entgleisen. Wir leben unseren Traum – und niemand sagt, dass wir aufwachen sollen.

Wir leben in diesem neuen Jahrtausend, in diesem Moment des Irrsinns, wo irgendwo dazwischen, im Flimmern der Jahre, sich das Licht im Staub verliert.

Fotografien auf Holz, Papier oder transparente Folien übertragen, überarbeitet mit Gips, Öl oder Acrylfarben, wurden dem Wetter ausgesetzt. Sie tragen die Spuren der Zeit, machen Vergänglichkeit sichtbar und lassen das Unaufhaltsame des Verfalls erahnen.
